Ahlers, Stuart Named May/June 2024 Futures League Players of the Month

WEYMOUTH, Mass. (July 3, 2024) 一 With the first full month of summer baseball complete, Futures League has recognized its PLÁKATA! Player of the Month and 78 Sports Pitcher of the Month for May/June.

Nashua Silver Knights and Keene State University outfielder Tommy Ahlers is the PLÁKATA! Bats Player of the Month. The native of Salem, N.H., has climbed to the top of the leaderboard in a multitude of categories as an everyday player for Nashua, posting a .339 average that ranked fifth in the league through 29 games as of the turn of the calendar. Ahlers recorded 41 hits in that time, 11 more than any other player in the league. He was also the league leader in doubles (10) and total bases (54) while ranking second in runs scored (23) and stolen bases (18). Ahlers began his Silver Knights career on a nine-game hitting streak.

Worcester Bravehearts and Endicott College right-hander Brady Stuart enjoyed a flawless start to the summer that earned him 78 Sports Pitcher of the Month honors. Joining the Bravehearts straight from a repeat run to the Division 3 College World Series this spring, Stuart has thrown 20 consecutive scoreless innings with Worcester, allowing just nine hits and four walks while striking out a team-leading 24. His strikeout total is also tied for third-most in the league. The Hudson, Mass., native capped his opening month with a bang on June 28, carrying a no-hitter for the first 8.2 innings of a complete-game, 12-strikeout performance against the Road Warriors.
