The final week of the regular season proved to be a great one as there were many runs scored and some amazing pitching performances. On top of that, we saw an extremely close race for first place in the standings and every game mattered to these teams. There were a lot of games that had many playoff implications and a playoff feel to them. It was definitely a fun week of Futures league baseball as we head into the playoffs!
Monday, July 29th
Westfield 5, Pittsfield 1 (Game 1 of Double Header)
The Westfield Starfires took Game 1 of their double header with the Pittsfield Suns by a score of 5-1 Monday night. Westfield’s Thomas Joyce led the offense going 2 for 3 with a run scored and two RBIs. Jeff Boggess led the struggling Pittsfield offense going 1 for3 with a run scored and the team’s only RBI.
