Umpire of the Year

Brendon McCarthy is from Milton Mass, attended BC High and graduated from Providence College.  Brendon was discovered in October of 2011 as he attended one of Rob Healey's umpiring clinics. Brendon was considered the top student at this clinic, by MLB Umpires, Eddie Hickox and Todd Tichenor.  After attending the clinic, Brendon began his umpiring career under the tutelage of our FCBL Umpire Supervisor, Rob Healey. McCarthy quickly grabbed the particulars in the umpiring field and in the 2012 FCBL season was considered one of our league's best umpires.  The 2013 season proved just that for Brendon, as he picked up in 2013 exactly where he left off in 2012. The FCBL would like to congratulate Brendon as he is the 2013 recipient of the Umpire of Year award. We look forward in seeing the progress of Brendon in the future, and look for him to continue umpiring in our league in the 2014 season.
