The Futures League Introduces Refreshed Visual Identity

WEYMOUTH, Mass. (March 17, 2022) -- With the opening of the 2022 season inching closer, the Futures League is excited to unveil a refreshed visual identity for the first time in its history.

The new Futures League logo features a collegiate-style waving banner, centered on top of a silhouette of the six New England states to represent the league's focus on the region.

Since its inception in 2011, the Futures League has taken pride in showcasing and developing student-athletes from all divisions who reside in and/or are affiliated with a New England-based college program. From there, the league’s player pool expanded quickly and now includes representation from major conferences all throughout the United States.

“The Futures League is ecstatic to move forward into the 2022 season and beyond with our new logos,” Commissioner Joe Paolucci said. “We are proud of our roots in New England and wanted to keep the strong tie to the region that we love and call home apparent in these marks.”

Using a circle in the background of the primary logo was a gesture to connect the old with the new, as the league’s original logo that had been used since 2011 was based on a circle.

The refreshed color palette is composed of a deeper blue and red and the introduction of a warm white called “vintage wool” to pay tribute to New England's rich collegiate baseball history and vintage flannel baseball jerseys.

The new identity was created by Brian Bednarski, who is no stranger to the Futures League. Bednarski has worked with the league and its teams on prior projects, including the special logo that commemorated the league’s 10th season of play back in 2020.

The Futures League’s 2022 season is set to begin on Thursday, May 26.
