The Futures League is seeking a communications and league office operations intern for the upcoming season, which begins in late May and ends with postseason series in approximately mid-August. The candidate would serve as a key assistant to the league office (primarily the Associate Commissioner/Director of Media Relations) for communications and operations tasks, and produce content for the league’s social media channels and website.
Applicants must have a proven interest in communications, journalism and baseball operations, possess a strong knowledge and understanding of the game of baseball, and be able to travel to Futures League games and events during the summer.
Applicants must be journalism and media-related majors with active involvement in their college sports and media programs and/or experience working in other baseball organizations. Baseball playing experience is a plus.
Previous Futures League interns are employed by Major League Baseball and Minor League Baseball teams, as well as television news stations in Omaha, Neb., and Portland, Maine.
