Bio

Bashlor, who was a two-way player for the 2012 Torrington Titans while at South Georgia College, was the first Futures League product to play Major League Baseball. As a Futures Leaguer, Bashlor struck out 13 in seven innings as a pitcher while hitting .264 with a home run and seven RBI in 14 games. He was an 11th-round draft choice of the New York Mets in 2013 and made his MLB debut on June 25, 2018, pitching for the Mets (2018-19) and Pittsburgh Pirates (2020). Bashlor's journey to the majors was a story of perseverance, as he overcame Tommy John surgery and multiple injury-related setbacks in the two seasons following his 2013 pro debut before returning to the mound in an organized game in 2016. He reached Double-A in 2017 and made his MLB debut the following year without a stop in Triple-A.
